Modelling Tennis Rallies Using Information from both Video and Audio Signals
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sports can contain events that occur too quickly to be captured by 25 frames-per-second video. An audio signal, sampled at a much higher temporal rate, provides a way to detect events over a shorter timescale. However, there are complications such as noise, echoes and latencies. Nevertheless, we have found statistical evidence that could allow an audio-based stroke detector to predict future events, allowing it to avoid potentially misleading sound event features.

Temporal structure analysis of broadcast tennis video using hidden Markov models
This work aims at recovering the temporal structure of a broadcast tennis video from an analysis of the raw footage. Our method relies on a statistical model of the interleaving of shots, in order to group shots into predefined classes representing structural elements of a tennis video. This stochastic modeling is performed in the global framework of Hidden Markov Models (HMMs). The fundamental...
متن کاملSmartTennisTV: Automatic indexing of tennis videos
In this paper, we demonstrate a score based indexing approach for tennis videos. Given a broadcast tennis video (btv), we index all the video segments with their scores to create a navigable and searchable match. Our approach temporally segments the rallies in the video and then recognizes the scores from each of the segments, before refining the scores using the knowledge of the tennis scoring...
متن کاملA scheme for racquet sports video analysis with the combination of audio-visual information
As a very important category in sports video, racquet sports video, e.g. table tennis, tennis and badminton, has been paid little attention in the past years. Considering the characteristics of this kind of sports video, we propose a new scheme for structure indexing and highlight generating based on the combination of audio and visual information. Firstly, a supervised classification method is...
متن کاملPhysiological responses and match characteristics in professional tennis players during a one-hour simulated tennis match
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of serve and return game situations on physiological responses and match characteristics in professional male tennis players during one hour-long simulated singles tennis matches. Ten internationally ranked tennis players (age 22.2 ± 2.8 years; body height 180.7 ± 4.4 cm; body mass 75.9 ± 8.9 kg) participated in this study. Their physiolo...

Dramatic changes in digital communication and exchange of image, audio, video and text files result in a suitable field for interpersonal transfers of hidden information. Therefore, nowadays, preserving channel security and intellectual property and access to hidden information make new fields of researches naming steganography, watermarking and steganalysis. Steganalysis as a binary classifica...
